Gertrude Pearson 1882-1964
In 1925 Mrs. Gertrude Weldon, née Pearson purchased Atholl House.
This was 5 years after the passing of her husband Leonard Ernest Weldon who died in 1920 aged 40.
Within weeks of taking possession, Mrs. Weldon had plans drawn up by H.W. Hartley and Company, architects from Sherwood. She specified a double garage with twin roller-shutter doors, a tool shed and a greenhouse to be built in one long complex along the stone wall on her boundary with Magdala Road for modern taste for the motor car, and her choice of practical, easy access to hers from the house, that induced her to change the address of Atholl House from 17, Redcliffe Road to 20, Magdala Road, Mapperley.
